What StoryForge is

StoryForge is a storybook app for children aged 5 to 8, published by DigitalForge. A child draws a picture, and the app turns it into an illustrated, narrated storybook. Children never type text into the app. Everything that changes an account — consent, subscriptions, deleting data — sits behind a parent PIN.

This policy explains what information the app collects, which services receive it, how long it is kept, and how you can withdraw consent or delete everything.

Parental consent

Before any of your child’s drawings or story content leaves the device, we ask you — the parent or guardian — to read the list of services below and agree to it. We keep a record of the version of this list you agreed to, and when. If the list changes in a way that matters, the app asks you again before making any new stories.

Who receives your child’s data

StoryForge works with a small number of services to make each story. Each one receives only what it needs for its part of the job:

• Anthropic — Your child’s drawing or paper-drawing photo, to check it is safe and describe it; the story text and illustrations it writes; any story ideas you type; and the name, description, traits and appearance you type for a reusable character, to check they are safe.
• fal.ai — A written description of the drawing plus the character text, to paint the illustrations — not the drawing itself.
• Fish Audio — Each page’s story text and your chosen narrator voice, to record the narration.
• Cloudflare R2 — Your child’s drawing, the finished illustrations and the narration audio, stored so the story can be reopened.
• Expo Push API — The child profile’s nickname and the story’s title, inside the ‘your story is ready’ notification, if you turn notifications on.
• Supabase and RevenueCat — Your account, child profiles and story records (Supabase); your account ID, to manage your subscription (RevenueCat).

What we collect about you, the parent

When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive the account identifier and, if you share it, your email address. We use it to keep your account, your child profiles and your stories together, and to manage your subscription. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

The child profiles you create hold a nickname and an avatar choice. We do not ask for a child’s real name, date of birth, photo, or location.

How long we keep things

Stories, drawings, illustrations and narration are kept for as long as your account exists, so they can be reopened.

Drafts of stories that failed to finish are removed after 30 days. On the free plan, stories that were never opened are removed after 7 days, and if a subscription lapses, stories beyond the free plan’s limit are kept for a 30-day grace period before being removed.

Safety-check records (whether a drawing or character text passed our checks) are kept for 90 days and then deleted. When you delete your account these records are unlinked from you immediately: the account identifier on them is removed and cannot be restored.

The record of your consent is kept as long as the law requires us to be able to show that consent was given.

Deleting your account

Open the Parent Zone, enter your PIN, go to Privacy & Data and choose Delete account. Every drawing, illustration, narration recording, story, and child profile is permanently removed, along with your account. There is no recovery afterwards.

Withdrawing consent

Open the Parent Zone, enter your PIN, go to Privacy & Data and choose Withdraw consent. From that moment the app stops sending anything new to the services above: no new stories can be made until you consent again. Withdrawing consent does not delete the stories you already have; use Delete account for that.

Your choices

Notifications are off unless you turn them on. Subscriptions are bought and cancelled through the App Store or Google Play, never inside the app for children. You can re-read this policy at any time from the Parent Zone, and the app keeps the last copy you read so it is available without a connection.
